A resident of District 1 for 11 years, Kevin Naquin lives in the unincorporated parish near Duson, Louisiana. He has been blessed with 2 daughters, Kaleigh, and Natalie, and one son, Baylen. Kevin graduated in 1997 from Acadiana High School and in 2001 received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Insurance and Risk Management from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

In 2012, Kevin was elected Lafayette City-Parish Council Member by citizens in District 1. In January 2013, he was elected Vice-Chair of the Lafayette City-Parish Council and in 2014 he was elected Lafayette City-Parish Council Chairman. In 2017, he was elected vice-chair of the council.

During his tenure on the Council, he has attended the Louisiana Municipal Association Conferences. In other leadership roles, he has served on several Departmental Liaison Committees, as well as participated in the Council of Governments (COG) meetings, which consists of all elected Officials in Lafayette Parish. My colleague and I, Finance Chairman Jay Castille, appointed a Committee to review the funding needs of Lafayette Consolidated Government. After meeting for almost a year, the Future Needs/Funding Sources Committee for the Lafayette Consolidated Government brought forth a recommendation to the Council.

Kevin is currently employed by USMEDEQUIP since February 2007 as a Business Development Representative. USMEDEQUIP serves patients in need 24 hours and 7 days a week. They provide rentals, sales, and service of medical equipment to hospitals and Long Term Acute Care Facilities throughout 6 states.

Kevin has been playing the accordion since the age of 14. He plays accordion for his Cajun band "The Ossun Playboys". He and his band have won a total of 18 Cajun French Music Association awards over the past several years.

Kevin's father Jessie Naquin was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2011. As a direct result from this, Kevin established a foundation in 2012 and organized the inaugural Pancreatic Cancer Golf Tournament.
